So much has happened since we were privileged to visit Rafiki two years ago-- true to their vision, the trustees and partnering organizations and churches have continued to develop the center, adding a fish pond, opening a boys' dorm, a technical school, a primary school, and now a music program. Recently the center was featured by NBC News in weekly installments. Here are links to some of the stories:
In May of 2010, we were invited to go to Kenya as part of a team ministry. We taught music at KIST (Kima International School of Theology) and visited an orphanage, taking instruments and sound equipment bought with donations from friends. This trip was life-changing. Read about our trip in the Kenyan Journal. If you would like to help us contribute to the lives of the students and children we met, you can make a donation towards student scholarships and an instrument fund. While teaching at Kima International School of Theology, we met Caleb student Osore Esilaba. Since then he has graduated with his Master's in Theology from St Paul's University. Now he is starting a non-profit organization benefitting needy children in his home village. Watch for updates on this remarkable young man's journey.
