We trust that you are finding ways to enjoy the holidays
without being overrun with To Do lists! With teens home from college, our hearts and homes are full to
overflowing with laundry, boxes of stuff, and extra kids.Ah, it's "The most wonderful time of
the year!"
We've had a most excellent time recently, singing Advent/Christmas repertoire at
Petersen's Jewelers in Culpeper (they really know how to throw a party!), Burke
Coffeehouse at Burke Pres, the Special Friends dinner in Alexandria, hosted
by First Baptist, and Restoration in Fairfax. As of today, we plan to be Monday at Jammin' Java in Vienna but check our schedule before you come, as over 20" of snow fell during the past 36 hours and they are just beginning to clean the roads!
We have so many favorite moments from the past few weeks, so here are just a few of them:
.... getting to the end of our 2 and 1/2 hour set at Petersen's and realizing we still have more of our Christmas repertoire we hadn't yet played!
.... meeting a dear friend at Burke Coffeehouse who I hadn't seen in years... who found our date on the internet and came to hear us!
.... having several of our special friends guests come on stage and dance to our music! We did "The Chicken Dance" and one gentleman kept saying, "I can do this! I can do this!" with the biggest smile on his face.
.... playing with friends Richard on bass, Sam on electric guitar and Matt on drums at Restoration... it was a sweet and tight sound.
