There were so many important issues to consider--  but instead I matched socks. Well, that is a bit of hyperbole, since not much matched.  I started with about 3 laundry baskets full of socks-- and I still have at least one laundry basket of unmatched socks left (not to mention what landed in the trash). I'm not sure where they come from, since I buy one style year after year for my boys-- they must be runaways from other boys (or girls, I did find some pink-striped ones). They were piled about two feet deep on my kitchen counter, a good place to work because of the lighting-- but alas, it took me about a day just to clean the counter to prepare it for clothes.  About two years ago, I threw away, or used as rags, all the socks and bought new socks, so this is only two-years' worth of sock mischief.  I must say that some socks were so dirty they didn't match anything-- but I do wonder why one foot gets so much dirtier than the other.  And then there are the bleaching accidents-- didn't but should have, shouldn't have but did.  I have heard of people safety-pinning socks together or putting them in mesh bags-- if only I could find my mesh bags and safety pins!   It seems I am the only one in my house that knows how to match socks-- but it does appear that I am not so good at it.  I know I have covered this topic in one of my "Adult-in-Training" classes I hold periodically, but the teacher needs some refreshing! -- SD

Happy September!

The Braeded Chord really enjoyed singing in Cape May, NJ at the always-wonderful Seashore Campsites, attending a music conference in Boulder, CO and running the best Teen Worship Boot Camp ever in Gainesville, VA.  After taking some time off, we're practicing for a couple of fall fundraisers-- the first one is at the Prince Michel Winery in Leon, VA to benefit SAFE (Services to Abused Families).  This includes book signings, silent and live auctions, wine tasting and more.  For more information and to purchase tickets, see Friends of SAFE.
